Using Electrostatic Spraying Technology with Clorox Total 360 System

Office cleaning routines are often deeply ingrained into company culture but, as with anything else, tradition isn’t a good enough reason to blindly stick to using outdated methods. Although electrostatic spraying technology isn’t brand new, the Clorox Total 360 is, and it’s already gaining an excellent reputation for effectively reducing pathogens on hard to reach surfaces in workplaces.

Outbreaks of illness and infection can have a huge effect on the way your workplace operates so cleaning properly is more important than you might think. Whether you’re responsible for health and safety in a school, hospital, retirement home, or business space, changing the way you disinfect surfaces could have huge benefits on productivity and health.

What is electrostatic spraying technology?

Although you may not have heard of it, electrostatic spraying technology is already used in many industries, including agriculture, but its introduction to the cleaning industry has meant that new standards of cleanliness and hygiene are now possible.

The technology works by pushing disinfectant through an ionised spray gun, giving it a negative electric charge as it comes through the nozzle. This electric charge reduces overspray and drift, as each droplet of spray is strongly attracted to all surfaces. The electrostatic spraying technology also has the potential to reduce air pollution (using 65% fewer chemicals) and cost (it can be up to four times quicker than the alternative and so saves a considerable amount of Labour resource).

The science behind electrostatic spraying

Electrostatic spraying equipment uses the basic principles of attraction to ensure a thorough cleaning process.

  1. An electrode inside the nozzle of the cleaning system introduces a negative electrical charge to the droplets of sanitiser or disinfectant.
  2. These negatively charged particles repel each other, meaning they cover a large area and don’t pool together.
  3. As the negatively charged droplets pass surfaces (that typically have a neutral charge), they are attracted and coat it. Because they’re being attracted by static forces, you don’t have to worry about spraying directly onto surfaces. Particles will coat the sides and underside of your target area as long as they’re sprayed in the right direction.

Clorox Total System 360

The Clorox Total 360 System is an electrostatic sprayer that allows you to reach typically hard to clean surfaces, meaning you can disinfect or sanitise areas easily and quickly. The static charge that’s applied to the liquid allows wraparound coverage of any surface,  equating to time and cost savings. It also performs well on both hard surfaces and soft surfaces, so you can clean upholstery, floors, and tables all at the same time.

Easy to use, simply attach the Clorox Anywhere Hard Surface Sanitiser or Clorox Total 360 Disinfectant Cleaner to the machine, plug it in, and you’re ready to go. We also recommend wearing safety gloves and a face mask to prevent irritation.
